| FERROGRAPH IN-SHORE MARINE EQUIPMENT | |

This project added greatly to their successful launch on the market when eventually in 1955 "Wright & Weaire Ltd." went public. |

In what little spare time he had Ernest Niblett developed an interest in, and a love of sailing on inshore waters. He found there was a lack of any affordable safety equipment for this fast growing leisure sport, particularly with regard to depth sounders. So Ferrograph expanded into this niche market with the introduction of the "Ferrograph Inshore Echo Sounder" a depth sounder designed by Ernest Niblett which was sold in conjunction with Marconi as the Marconi-Ferrograph Sounder. |

Paper rolls for the Echo Sounder |
This set of pictures is probably from the mid 1960's, evidenced by the use of the Series 5/6 type control knobs and badge styling. Very substantial in construction and bearing all the hallmarks of the Ferrograph company. My thanks to Duncan Booth for the high quality pictures. |
